Vaal River Boat Slide Installation
See how SA Outdoor completed this Vaal River boat slide installation, from stainless steel reinforcements and chemical anchoring to the finished docking solution.
SA Outdoor has completed a boat slide installation on the banks of the Vaal River in Vanderbijlpark. The modular boat slide provides a practical way to launch and retrieve a boat from a waterfront property, complementing the range of boat docking systems and floating docking solutions offered by SA Outdoor.
Building a Strong Foundation
The first stage focused on preparing and securing the stainless steel angle reinforcements. The installation uses vinylester chemical anchors (IKA-CV) inside the drilled holes. The chemical anchors were allowed to cure before the remaining installation work continued.

Designed for Repeated Boat Launches
The boat slide incorporates solid stainless steel angles and internally stiffened D-type rubber fenders. These components form part of a robust system intended for repeated boat launching and retrieval on the Vaal River.
The solid brick wall was particularly tough to drill into during installation, but its solid construction provides a strong base for the anchor system.
Completed Boat Slide on the Vaal River
The installation is now complete. The finished boat slide sits between the existing waterfront structures, with its central guide channel extending towards the river. The completed installation photograph below shows the final arrangement and access from the waterside property.
